Books

King Leopold's Ghost by Adam Hochfield - an incredible tale of how the Belgian king himself owned the Congo - this book changed my attitude concerning colonial policies by all nations.

River Town:Two Years on the Yangtse by Hessler(sp?) - a Princeton Graduate goes to China to a town of 500,000 to teach english at a Public Teachers college at the intersection of the Wu and Yangtse rivers - very very detailed in it's impressions and descriptions of life for a foreigner in China.

American Cesar by William Manchester - Incredible tale that covers things from the Civil War - his father's service and all parts of his life. A wonderfull tale that is true.

A World Lite by Fire, The Last Lion: Winston Churchill and The Arms of Krup are all also by W. Manchester and worth reading.

The Power Broker: Robert Moses by Robert Caro
