Good Quote

Never walk away from failure. On the contrary, study it carefully and imaginatively for its hidden assets.

Good Blog!

From a comment on Selling Britney Spears old homework to the following:

"On Friday and Saturday I was feeling gloomy. I also hadn't studied a thing. It wasn't clear which way cause and effect ran here; it didn't seem to matter. But I didn't want to go to bed that way.So I challenged myself to scribble out a really bad version of the current assignment.

Usually I'm no good at writing quickly, but for this challenge I managed 800 words in 20 minutes. 800 bad words, of course.

That wasn't the point. By the time they were finished, I wasn't just ungloomy, I was happy.I'd accomplished something; I'd proved to myself that I could do it; I'd even exceeded my own expectations.

I've found over the years that when I'm really upset about something, reading a good book will always calm me down. Now I know that when I'm just gloomy, doing something solid will cheer me up."
